Viagra Chemical Composition

How Viagra Works?
Sildenafil works by blocking the action of Phosphodiesterase type 5 chemical that breaks down cyclic GMP chemical that causes blood vessels in the penis to widen. Thus, by stopping the action of PDE type-5 chemical, Sildenafil stops the break-down of cyclic GMP, thereby keeping the blood vessels dilated for longer periods of time. This also improves the blood flow in the penis that helps men in achieving and maintaining erection for longer period of time. Sildenafil enhances the action of cyclic GMP that is responsible for producing an erection. This drug only works when a man is sexually aroused.
