How Nasonex Works?
Corticosteroids are naturally produced hormones by the adrenal glands that control inflammatory responses. In patients suffering from allergies, the natural corticosteroids are not sufficient to control the inflammatory responses which results in swelling and inflammation in the nasal passages. Thus, patients are prescribed with Nasonex, a synthetic corticosteroid, that is administered as a nasal spray to decrease inflammation and swelling in the nasal passages. When administered, Mometasone gets absorbed into the nasal passages cells. This drug prevents these cells from releasing the chemicals that trigger allergic response. Therefore, Nasonex stops the allergic reaction thereby reducing the nasal inflammation.
